Seventy two subject learners were enrolled for the 2016 Senior Certificate Examination. We are proud to report that our Matrics, for the past successive twelve years, achieved excellent results in their final practical work.
The Moderation for 2016 took place on October 20 when 39 of the 72 candidates achieved distinctions (above 80%) – 23 for Visual Arts (77%) ; 16 for Design (79%). These outstanding achievements are sound testimony of meaningful tuition that focuses on the development of creative skills, critical thinking and a high work ethic. These high academic standards have become synonymous with the Art Centre`s reputation over the past 63 years of the art school`s existence.

The Art Centre continued its commitment to make a positive contribution to the identification of subject learners in our community through the Kickstart Project sponsored by Deloitte. In 2016 six learners from Cloetesville-, Kylemore-, Lückhoff- and Waldorf High School were sponsored to attend classes at the Art Centre.

Certificates for the best achievements by learners in our respective subjects were awarded recently at the various prize-giving ceremonies of our feeder schools.
